After a successful breeding with Nocturne's Zev, we were fortunate to develop a working relationship with Helen Gleason owner of Nocturne Acres Kennels. It was through that relationship we discovered Nocturne's Navigator, a beautiful "Total Dog." In Navigator's pedigree search we also discovered he has the Todorhaus line in his pedigree. We already have a great working relationship and successful quality breedings with Todorhaus Kennels!

It was because of our appreciation of Navigator Helen told us she had frozen semen from him and offered us a breeding. In Fall of 2019, Navigator was bred to Roxy DeLisiresulting in a litter of 7 puppies. Here are puppy pictures from that breeding...

We also have a beautiful female we are considering from our Rocco vom Mittelwest X Karma Carmella litter, Octavia (Ava). We will soon have a page on this web site for Ava. We are hoping for a successful Navigator breeding in the near future.  A dog will be donated to help heal a veteran through the SEAL Dog Foundation from that breeding should it be successful.

Helen Gleason has served the German Shepherd Breed in many capacities. She served on the (GSDCA) Board of Directors including 2018 Vice President of the Club. She is a breeder, trainer, handler, and judge of German Shepherd dogs, an active competitor in Agility, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, Working Dog Sport, and Conformation. She a breeder of multiple Champions, and trainer of dogs through UDT, SchH3, AX, AXJ, and HX. Helen is the first person to have an American Bred Champion with a SchH III title! She has numerous dogs that have won the German Shepherd Dog Club of America's Performance Award of Merit (PAM) and the Annual Training Award of Achievement (ATAA). We both believe in the "Total Dog" concept and have the same breeding goals of developing multi-purpose and multi-disciplined German Shepherd Dogs.

Nocturne's Navigator

We promote the "Total Dog" and strive to breed multi-purpose, multi-disciplined German Shepherd Dogs.

A Total Dog displays many abilities in function, temperament, and structure. Our Total Dog philosophy places an emphasis on dogs that can show and perform in multiple venues utilizing multiple disciplines, such as displaying the gait appropriate for their breed type while in the show ring, and then using that superb construction to effortlessly to compete in performance activities. A sound, well-bred, well-adjusted dog can easily transition from the conformation show ring to a performance event. Venues as agility, herding, rally, obedience, scent detection, tracking, IGP/IPO/(Schutzhund), lure coursing and weight pull are typical performance events. A Total Dog has the looks to excel as a proper specimen of its breed, while also having the brains and ability to perform athletically in a variety of sporting venues.

"You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks."
