About Nocturne's Zev

We discovered Zev from a 2016 issue of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America's official monthly publication, the "Review." Helen Gleason of Nocturne Acres Kennels, is the owner of SG Champion Nocturne's Zev CD, IGP1, BH, TC, AD, RN, RI, DM Clear, CHIC, OFA H/E, Normal "A". We contacted her about the possibility of breeding with Zev. A number of dynamics caught our attention caught about Zev. He was already a Champion and a Working Dog! Zev is OFA with a Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) designation, with an outstanding proven pedigree. Zev was the highest scoring dog in Obedience at the 2017 German Shepherd Dog Club of America Nationals.

Upon studying his pedigree, we discovered Zev is also a descendent of the legendary Zamp Von Themodos. The famous and legendary World Champion VA1 Zamp vom Thermodos, is considered by many to be "the Best of the Best of the German Shepherd Breed." We contacted Helen and negotiated a breeding for 2018 with our UKC Champion Karma Camella CGC, TC, OFA, CHIC.
 

Zev's owner Helen Gleason has served the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA) in many capacities. Helen has served on the (GSDCA) Board of Directors including 2018 Vice President of the Club. She is a breeder, trainer, handler, and judge of German Shepherd dogs, an active competitor in Agility, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, Working Dog Sports, and Conformation. She a breeder of multiple Champions, and trainer of dogs through UDT, SchH3, AX, AXJ, and HX. Helen is the first person to have an American Bred Champion with a SchH III title! She has many dogs that have won the German Shepherd Dog Club of America's Performance Award of Merit (PAM). We bred Zev to our Karma Carmella and a litter of three, two males and one female were whelped on November 19, 2018. One male puppy went to Zev's owner Helen Gleason. Another male was donated to veteran through the SEAL Dog Foundation. The female (pictured on the right below) we named Debbie. When the puppies were appraised, our appraiser told us Debbie was the best female I have bred. It was then we decided to keep "Little Debbie" and she has a great future ahead of her.
